Fonts downloadable from this site

These five fonts by AnonMoos can be downloaded in Zip-file archive form by clicking on the text links. Use PKZIP-compatible software to uncompress the individual files from a downloaded archive (or click on the Zip archive to view it directly as a file folder in recent disk-browser software), and use the standard procedures in your operating system to install the font files. In MS-Windows, the easiest way to install the font is generally to copy the TrueType font file from the opened Zip archive to the system Fonts folder (accessible under the "Settings" or "Control Panel" options in the Start menu). The first and fourth fonts may be freely redistributed if all the individual files for each font are kept together and distributed unaltered; the fifth font is in the public domain; while the second, third, and sixth fonts are licensed under the SIL Open Font Licence.

  1. [Tengwar Elfetica font glyphs] Download a compressed ZIP archive file (size 24k) containing the "Tengwar Elfetica" font, a simple sans-serif font for writing the characters of J.R.R. Tolkien's Tengwar writing system. This is a revised version of the original "Elfetica" font by Ronald Kyrmse. See the file TengwarElfetica.txt in the archive for an explanation of the files contained in the archive.
  2. [Fivefold ornaments font glyphs] Download a compressed ZIP archive file (size 140k) containing version 1.1 (released March 14, 2011) of the Five-fold Ornaments etc. font, a "dingbat" font which mainly includes decorative abstract geometric patterns with five-fold symmetry or quasi-symmetry. This was partly inspired by the Discordian "Fnord" fonts by toa267, and contains revised versions of a few symbols from that font. Font version 1.1 has fifty ornaments assigned to diacritic letters (characters in the range 193-250). See the file FivefoldOrnamentsEtc.txt in the archive for an explanation of the files contained in the archive. This font should also be available in some form at the Open Font Library site (though that site has disruptively "rebooted" itself at least three times since the beginning of 2010).
  3. [Boustrophedon no curves font glyphs] Download a compressed ZIP archive file (size 15k) containing the No Curves Boustrophedon font, which consists of blocky angular upper case letters without curves. The lower-case ASCII area contains versions of upper-case letters which are left-to-right mirror reversed to allow for Boustrophedon writing. See the file NoCurvesBoustrophedon.txt in the archive for an explanation of the files contained in the archive. This font should also be available in some form at the Open Font Library site.
  4. [Gorean and pseudo-Gorean symbols font glyphs including Kajira Kef, Roissy Triskelion, Nadu hand-sign gesture, Dina, and historical Chinese character U5974 奴] Download a compressed ZIP archive file (size 133k) containing the Gorean (and pseudo-Gorean) symbols font, a "dingbat" font which includes visual interpretations or artistic depictions of various symbols described verbally in John Norman's series of Gor novels, as well as other symbols possibly of interest to Gor fans. See the file GoreanBrandsSymbols.txt in the archive for an explanation of the files contained in the archive. The initial version of this font was released on January 29th, 2006. Since then, 98 new symbols have been added to more recent versions of the font, while 12 symbols were removed and split off into a separate font (see #5 below). Major improvements in the TrueType version of the font occurred with release 2.0 of November 4th, 2006 and release 3.1 of May 1st, 2008. The current version is 3.6 of January 15th, 2010 (which has six additional symbols with respect to the immediately preceding release, 3.5 of April 25th, 2009).
  5. [Ownership icon font glyphs] Download a small compressed ZIP archive file (size 7k) containing the Ownership icons and flag font (version 1.002 of July 19th, 2007), a "dingbat" font which includes basic versions of the Tanos ownership icons (note that some elaborated and combined versions of these icons are included in the Quasi-Gorean symbols font above). See the file OwnershipIconsFlag.txt in the archive for an explanation of the files contained in the archive.
  6. [Goddess symbol font glyphs] Download a compressed ZIP archive file (size 38k) containing a preliminary version of the Goddess symbols font, a "dingbat" font which includes abstract fontified versions of a number of quasi-traditional Goddess symbols or variants. See the file GoddessSymbols.txt in the archive for an explanation of the files contained in the archive.

Each font is in both TrueType and PostScript Type 1 formats for Microsoft Windows. The files for at least one font format should be able to be used directly (or fairly easily converted for use) in most modern operating systems.

Symbol graphics included in the fonts must be in a fairly abstract visual form, due to the limitations of standard font formats (which only allow for specifying shapes in an undetermined foreground color and an undetermined background color).
